In a historic
moment for the Nigerian Police Force, Ebunoluwa Rotimi Adelesi has taken up the
mantle as the first female Commissioner of Police in Kwara State.
She took over the headship of the command from the outgoing Commissioner
of Police, Paul Odama, who was promoted to the rank of Assistant
Inspector-General of Police, AIG.
CP Ebunoluwarotimi hails from Sagamu, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, according to a statement by the spokesman of the command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin on Wednesday.
She was appointed to the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The statement described the new police
commissioner as a no-nonsense police officer who has worked in several police
commands and formations within and outside the country, where she held several
command positions at various times.
